It was THE most amazing weekend I spent as the wedding photographer at Mas Cruanyes – a beautiful classical country house near Girona, Spain – celebrating with Laura and Tom. Mas Cruanyes is an exclusive use mansion with pool and extensive grounds which was just perfect for the relaxed, natural wedding day they had in store. I had so much fun and was delighted to be part of the entire weekend’s activities – and I was very well looked after too I might add, which I’m very thankful for!
I arrived on Friday, drove my first ever car abroad which was extremely nerve-wracking, checked into my hotel and headed down to the beach for drinks and tapas with Laura and Tom’s folks and friends. People had flown from all over the world to enjoy the experience with these guys so I knew they must be a pretty formidable duo… local cava and beers consumed plus paella made everyone very happy to be in Spain.
There were probably a few sore heads on the morning of the wedding but a slightly later start meant there was enough time for a quick recovery, with guests arriving at Mas Cruanyes at 2.30pm for pre-wedding drinks by the pool. A beautiful outdoor humanist ceremony in the sunshine meant it was so personal to Tom and Laura – plus their good friend actually got ordained so he could be the one marrying them! More drinks in the sunshine followed by traditional Spanish food, very loud soul music and some of the best speeches I’ve ever heard (and that takes some doing believe me!). Then into the ‘rave cave’ for a proper party and of course more drink and a bit more food.
The wedding photos really reflect the great day had by everyone, I made sure of it – shiny happy people, absolutely having the time of their lives, with Laura and Tom centre stage. I couldn’t wait to get these photos blogged so the fab times could be remembered. There are certainly lots more to come but do enjoy these few of my favourites for the moment.
