Well after reading everyone else’s round up of 2011 I thought I’d get a few of my faves from the year and put them together in a little story for you. What started as a bit of a token post purely to keep up with my peers has ended up a very personal account of the things I have achieved this year photographically. It may not be obvious to the untrained eye that my work has moved on leaps and bounds but to me, in merely 6 months since the birth of my second child I feel I have a new agenda, a new passion to become great. In 2011 I became a different photographer. And only a few will know what I mean. It changed so quickly that I’m a little scared of where it will take me in 2012 – but I cant wait to see whats going to happen. I’ve found new influences, found new friends and found photography as a hobby as well as work (much to my husbands despair). I’ve realised what a friendly place this industry can be if you look hard enough and I don’t feel stuck in a tiny office on my own anymore – I feel like I’m part of a lively community thats buzzing with creativity and passion.
In 2012 I’m really looking forward to working on some visually amazing weddings with some wonderful people. Im looking forward to seeing what I can make of all these bookings I have and looking forward to meeting lots of lovely new couples!
I’d like to say a special few thank you’s to the people who have personally influenced/put up with me this year, Amy, Kelly, my Mum & Dad and my David. Speech over now. Enjoy!
