Terri and Will’s Elmley Nature Reserve wedding was just so beautiful! This place would definitely be on my list of venues if I was getting married. It’s on the Isle of Sheppey which is about 1.5 hours from London and it feels like you’re in the absolute middle of nowhere – which is how some folk want to feel when they’ve been living and working hard in London for so many years. The site consists of Kingshill Barn which is where the wedding reception is set up, ceremony can be held outside, and guests can stay onsite in the bell tents and huts scattered in the fields next door. A truly amazing place.
So Terri and Will chose to get married outdoors which is always a ‘cross your fingers’ kind of plan when we’re talking about British weather! And lo and behold it started to drizzle just as Terri was putting her wedding dress on! Luckily it stopped just as she started to walk down the grassy aisle and the sun came out as they were taking their vows and stayed for the rest of the day! Genius stuff.
Terri looked stunning in her vintage French lace wedding dress which she customised for the evening by removing the lace and adding a skirt and flower crown. She wore some flat ballet pumps the whole day too which is so much easier ladies when clambering around in fields to get those amazing photographs!
Elmley Nature Reserve is definitely at the top of my list for wedding venues to shoot again! Scroll down to see the story unfold.
